Zhang Zhiming, a national advanced worker
Zhang Zhiming, born in 1964, is currently the president of the Affiliated Hospital of Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, chief physician, doctoral supervisor, and leading talent of the health system in Gansu Province. In many emergency medical treatments, Zhang Zhiming gave full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine to treat the injured, and was affirmed by his peers and recognized by patients.
In January 2020, after the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the Gansu Provincial Health Commission quickly set up a provincial expert group on the prevention and treatment of new crown pneumonia in traditional Chinese medicine composed of more than 20 outstanding clinical experts in traditional Chinese medicine, and Zhang Zhiming was appointed as the leader of the team. They acted quickly and studied and formulated the "Traditional Chinese Medicine Prevention and Treatment Plan for Pneumonia Infected by Novel Coronavirus in Gansu Province", which played an important role as the clinical guidance for the medical treatment of traditional Chinese medicine for patients with new coronavirus pneumonia in the province. Zhang Zhiming summarized the clinical experience with the members of the expert group, continuously improved the prevention and treatment plan of traditional Chinese medicine, and formed four formulas, including the prevention party, the treatment party for ordinary patients, the treatment party for serious patients and the rehabilitation party, which are collectively known as "Gansu formula". Nearly 10,000 copies of the "Gansu Formula" followed the Gansu Aid Hubei Medical Team to aid Wuhan.
At the same time, Zhang Zhiming and the provincial expert group on the prevention and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine also went to Dingxi, Gannan and other cities and prefectures in a timely manner to carry out medical treatment guidance for confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia, and successively consulted patients, confirmed patients and suspected patients admitted to Weiyuan County People's Hospital, Longxi County People's Hospital, Dingxi People's Hospital, studied and judged the condition and guided follow-up treatment throughout the process, and dialectically treated patients and prescribed individualized traditional Chinese medicine treatment prescriptions according to the principles of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine diagnosis and treatment.
According to statistics, the treatment rate of traditional Chinese medicine in Gansu has reached 97.8%, and the participation rate of traditional Chinese medicine in treatment ranks first in the country. In March 2020, Zhang Zhiming and several other TCM experts summarized the "4 Cases of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for the Treatment of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia in Gansu" published in the Shanghai Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the "Gansu Formula" and the participation of Gansu Traditional Chinese Medicine in the prevention and treatment of new crown pneumonia have attracted widespread attention from the society. On the afternoon of March 20, Zhong Nanshan, head of the high-level expert group of the National Health Commission and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Zhang Zhiming, and other expert groups on the prevention and control of new crown pneumonia in Gansu Province were connected by video to exchange and discuss the clinical treatment of new crown pneumonia, and the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Gansu was affirmed and praised by academician Zhong.
