Gates said he had sat down after dinner to read a book, but ordered the Netflix tv series "Lupin." It is a French thriller starring Omar Sy, in which he transforms into a jewel thief to avenge his father.

"The next thing I know is that four hours have passed. I really let myself go to the order that night and I kind of laughed at myself, I don't usually do that, but they (streaming platforms) made it easy for me (just doing it). You just sit there and the next episode starts airing," Gates said.

Gates said he and his son watched "American Spy Dream." But his other family members felt it was too violent. In addition, they also watched "Modern Family" together.

Although Gates' niece and nephew play video games, he didn't like it. "I play bridge," Gates said. He also plays tennis and pickleball. Pickleball is a sport invented by Gates in his home state of Washington that combines badminton, table tennis and tennis.

Gates said he doesn't play much social media and prefers to get news directly from sources like The Economist or The New York Times. Asked if he had a "disposable" Twitter account, Gates said he did.

"I have a Twitter account and I just hang out on it," he said. I also have my official Twitter account. This is true on most (social media) services. One is the official me, and the other is the 'asshole' me. ”
