The Gates Foundation made $5.8 billion in grants last year.

George Soros ranked third with a net worth of $8.6 billion and $18.1 billion in donations; Michael Bloomberg ranked fourth with a net worth of $70 billion and a cumulative endowment of $12.7 billion, promising in December 2021 to support charter schools in 20 U.S. urban areas by $750 million over the next five years.
