"In August 2010, we, Yongyuan Purple Potato Industry Professional Cooperative, introduced by friends who plant flue-cured tobacco, came to Taowei Town to start planting purple potatoes. This year, in Muze, Liwan and Tianbao Villages in Taowei, 2,100 mu of purple potatoes were planted at a rent of 600 yuan per mu in Baimangying, Qiaotoupu, Dashiqiao, Helukou and other townships, with a yield of about 3,000 catties per mu and a net profit of more than 500 yuan per mu, which can earn more than 1 million yuan this year, and at the same time drive more than 300 nearby villagers to work at the doorstep of their homes to increase their income. Chen Zhihui said that the reason for the development of purple potatoes has benefited from the government's strong support for agriculture on the one hand, and he has also received planting subsidies this year. Chen Zhihui said that in recent years, it is precisely because of the government's strong support for agriculture and financial subsidies as a backing, so that they and the members of the cooperative dare to expand the planting area and increase the scale of planting, but in order to avoid risks, next year will be about 1,000 acres of land will continue to grow purple potatoes, the rest of the land will be used to grow sweet potatoes. Chen Zhihui believes that as long as there is government support and reasonable planning of cooperatives, his planting industry will definitely get better and better.
