Born on 22 September 1976 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Former Brazilian men's footballer who plays as a striker and is nicknamed "Alien", full name Ronaldo Luis Nazario da Lima.
Beginning in February 1993, Ronaldo made 20 appearances for the Brazilian national youth team, scoring 22 goals and finishing 4th in the South American Youth Football Championship.
On 4 March 1994, at the age of 17, Ronaldo made his debut for the Brazilian national team by playing 10 minutes off the bench against Argentina.
In May 1994, Ronaldo scored his first goal for the national team in a warm-up match between Brazil and Iceland, and had two assists to help the team win 3-0. The World Cup in the United States in the same year was the first major event experience of Ronaldo's career, Ronaldo won the World Cup with Brazil, but he did not get the opportunity to play.
In 1998, Brazil used the 3R combination for the first time in a World Cup qualifier. Romario, Ronaldo and Rivaldo formed an indestructible offensive line. Before the World Cup, Romario was unfortunately injured, and the burden of Brazil's attack was completely on the shoulders of the 22-year-old Ronaldo. In June of the same year, Ronaldo followed Brazil to the World Cup in France, but Ronaldo did not play well in the first match, and it was not until the second round that Brazil scored his first goal in the World Cup. In Brazil's quarter-final win over Chile, Ronaldo scored twice in the second half. On July 12, 1998, Ronaldo suffered a "strange disease" before the final of the World Cup in France, and the final play was abnormal, and Brazil lost 3-0 to France. In July 1999, he won the Copa America with Brazil, scoring five goals and joining Rivaldo for the top scorer.
In June 2002, Ronaldo accompanied Brazil to the World Cup in South Korea and Japan. In the first game against Turkey, Ronaldo equalized in the 50th minute. In the second game against China, Ronaldo scored the team's fourth goal in the second half. In the third game against Costa Rica, Ronaldo scored twice in less than 20 minutes to win 5-2. Entering the knockout rounds, Ronaldo has broken through the doors of Belgium and Turkey in succession. The final against Germany became a solo performance for Ronaldo, who scored two goals against the magic goalkeeper Kahn to help the team win the World Cup for the fifth time, while he also won the title of top scorer with eight goals and increased his total World Cup goals to 12 goals.
