The reporter learned that at present, the biggest use of unmanned underwater vehicles is to collect intelligence such as surveillance and reconnaissance, especially to collect marine information closely related to military activities, such as water temperature, salinity, density, currents, and underwater sound fields in the target area.
During the interview, the reporter visited fishermen in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangxi, Hainan and other places, and found that many fishermen had caught technical monitoring devices from abroad, and they had different models, types and advanced functions.
Zhang Xiaozi, a fisherman in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, caught a technical monitoring device as early as 2016 while fishing at sea.

In March last year, fisherman Cheng Lisong also discovered a technical monitoring device released abroad while fishing.

Cheng Lisong described the cylindrical objects he caught last year, and in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, fishermen also caught similar devices. Experts told reporters that such a device is called an aviation sonar buoy and can also be used as a technical monitoring device.
Chen Qinglang, a researcher at a research institution: There is a shell here, this thing is called an airbag, after this thing is thrown into the sea through an anti-submarine aircraft, this (air bag) will be inflated, and after sufficient gas, this thing will float on the surface of the water. There are also electronic components, sensors, and there are many wires here, so the signals collected by its sensors have an antenna in the airbag, which is sent out through the radio, and its anti-submarine aircraft can receive it, and then it can get useful information. This thing is a parachute, and after this sonar buoy is dropped from the air, it must have a parachute in order to enter the water in a stable posture.
According to experts, this aviation sonar buoy is the main detection equipment of anti-submarine helicopters and anti-submarine patrol aircraft, small in size and light weight, and its main function is to search, identify and track submarines, and then transmit the target submarine information obtained through the internal antenna to the anti-submarine aircraft to carry out precision strikes on submarines.
