The first to report that HBO Max's "Raising Ghosts and Eating People" series will have a female protagonist is The Illuminerdi, which was on May 26 this year, and then on June 15 this year, the website further revealed that Odessa A'zion will star in the new "Ghost Eater" project, but the report does not mention HBO Max at all, nor does it say the series, only mentioning that it will be a reboot. In fact, on May 24 this year, there was news on Bloody Disgusting that Disney's streaming platform Hulu would be responsible for releasing a rebooted version of the movie "Raising Ghosts eating people", and then this website also reported that Odessa A'zion would star in "Ghost Eaters", and the project she starred in was the rebooted version of the movie that would be broadcast on Hulu.
On the whole, I personally think that The Illuminerdi should have made a mistake when reporting on May 26 that HBO Max's "Raising Ghosts eat people" episode would have a female protagonist, and the website should not have realized the news of the hulu "Raising Ghosts eating people" movie that had just been exposed a few days ago at that time, so it mistakenly took this plot break as the content of HBO Max's "Raising Ghosts and Eating People" episode.
So, there are two very different Ghost Eaters projects, one of which is a Warner series that will be broadcast on streaming HBO Max, which will be directed by David Gordon Green, director of the new Moonlight Panic trilogy, and co-written by Michael Doherty, director of Godzilla Monster King, and screenwriter Mark Vesitton. The only question is how did a Ghost Eater project turn into two different projects and come to two very different studios, Warner and Disney streaming?

Goyer and director David Bruckner both talked about something in a recent interview.
