Senritsu, whose original name was Yūshiro Tanaka, was a famous tea ceremony master of the Azuchi Momoyama period in the Sengoku period of Japan, known as the Tea Sage. The status is almost equal to that of Lu Yu, who is worshipped in the Chinese tea industry. In 1585, Emperor Masanomachi (1517-1593) granted him the title of "Rishu", officially establishing his status as the "First Tea Man". He was referred to together with Imai Munehisa and Tsuda Munehisa as the "Three Craftsmen of the Ten heavens".
This book is a literary work by Japanese writer Kenichi Yamamoto based on real historical events, and won the 140th Naoki Prize in 2009. On December 7, 2013, the feature film of the same name, "In Search of Qianlixiu", was released and won a number of international awards and nominations.
