Provisions on "U-turns"
Article 49 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates:
Motor vehicles are not allowed to make U-turns at locations where there are signs or markings prohibiting left turns, as well as at railway crossings, crosswalks, bridges, sharp bends, steep slopes, tunnels or sections of roads prone to danger;
Motor vehicles may make U-turns in places where there is no U-turn or where there are no signs or markings prohibiting left turns, but they may not obstruct the passage of other vehicles and pedestrians that are normally moving.
In these cases, you can't turn around
There is a "No U-turn" sign
The following is the most intuitive sign of no U-turn, see this sign, here must be forbidden to make a U-turn.
Of course, there are also some "composite" no-U-turn signs, such as the following one. We just need to see the content clearly and drive according to the regulations.
There is a "No Left Turn" sign
Some intersections have signs prohibiting left turns, and if you see this sign, you can't turn around here. Because the U-turn must first turn left, since it is forbidden to turn left, it is certainly not allowed to turn around.
The leftmost lane has only straight arrows
If there is only a straight arrow in the leftmost lane, it is not possible to make a U-turn even if there is no sign prohibiting U-turns.
Zebra crossing
Motor vehicles are not allowed to make U-turns on the zebra crossing, and if a U-turn is allowed at an intersection, a U-turn should be made across the zebra crossing.
The centerline is a solid section of the road
You can't make a U-turn at the position of the solid line, you must wait for the green light to come on, and you can turn around after crossing the stop line, otherwise the U-turn of the solid line will also be punished.
When the left turn signal light is red
When the left turn signal is a red light, it means not only that the left turn is prohibited, but also that it is forbidden to turn around.
On the highway
Motorized vehicles are prohibited from making U-turns on highways. If you make a U-turn on the highway, you will be deducted 12 points and fined.
Other special circumstances
Bridges, ramps, sharp bends, tunnels and other sections prone to danger are also prohibited from U-turns.

Do not obstruct normal traffic order when making U-turns
Under no circumstances shall a vehicle turn around obstruct other vehicles or pedestrians that are normally moving.

No U-turns are allowed on the zebra crossing
Pedestrians have priority access on the zebra crossing. Vehicles need to cross the zebra crossing before they can make a U-turn, and cannot be pressed on the zebra crossing to make a U-turn.

Cross the stop line and make a U-turn by following the signal light instructions
Vehicles must follow the signs when they need to cross the stop line to make a U-turn. In general, the U-turn signal light > the left turn signal light > the round cake signal light, that is, the signal light indicates that the right of passage is the U-turn signal light is preferred to the left turn signal light and the round cake signal light, and the left turn signal light is preferential to the round cake signal light.
