The original character for 顯 [xiǎn] is "㬎", and today's simplified word is written as "顯".
The glyph "濕 (wet)" in the oracle bone resembles two bundles of silk hanging on a shelf, and the left side resembles dripping water. The glyph "xian" in the golden text is added with a sun on top of the "silk", as if it were drying silk in the sun; a page is added to the right of the glyph, highlighting the quality of the eye examining the silk in daylight.
