Laoshan Taiqing Palace

Laoshan Taoism is the Northern Quanzhen Sect and is known as the "Second Jungle of Taoism In the World".

The "Yi Gate" is actually the main gate of the original Taiqing Palace, that is, the Mountain Gate. At that time, the "Yuanjun Pavilion" and the "Yuanchen Hall" had not yet been built. Confucius asked Lao Tzu. Next to the stone steps of the "Fengxian Bridge", at the northern end of the Fengxian Bridge, there are ancient elm branches coiled like a dragon, and there is a dragon-like tree with a height of 15 meters and a trunk of 3.7 meters at its thickest point. The tree has been more than 1100 years old, ranking the crown of ancient elms in the country. The characters are carved on the stone next to the tree, with a diameter of 30 centimeters, and a line of small characters, the text is: "Tang Tianjiazi Li Zhenren Zhe Xuan Hand Plant".
The tree is 18.8 meters tall and has a circumference of 4.1 meters. According to legend, it was planted in the Tang Dynasty, and according to records, this tree was planted by Li Zhexuan, a famous Taoist priest in Laoshan In the fifth dynasty. After Li Zhexuan came to Laoshan, on the basis of the original "Three Officials Hall" and "Three Qing Hall", he built the "Three Emperors Hall" to further improve the architectural layout of the Taiqing Palace.
The Three Officials Hall is the earliest Taoist temple hall in Laoshan Mountain, which is a neatly laid out Sanjin Temple, and the gate faces east. In the north of our country, the vast majority of temple gates are open to the south, because sitting north and facing south symbolizes authority. Laoshan is a Taoist wonderland, does not pay attention to power, here to open the door to the east is to show respect for guests. The main hall of the Three Officials Hall is a single-eaves hard mountain-style brick and stone structure hall, the top surface is covered with black plate tiles and barrel tiles, and the plaque is a rectangular shape of wood carved seal book, which is a standard Song Dynasty building. From the Song Dynasty to the present, the Three Officials Hall has undergone countless repairs, but it always retains the basic characteristics and style of Song Dynasty architecture, although it is not magnificent, it is not short of simple and solemn, and it is a typical Taoist temple.

In 1673, he went to the Laoshan Taiqing Palace, where he spent a period of creative life. One night, he sat in this pavilion contemplating, and suddenly saw someone on the opposite white wall flashing by, as if he had entered through the wall, fixed his eyes on it, it turned out to be the shadow of Daotong bringing him tea, but it inspired The old Mr. Pu Songling was inspired, and he wrote a famous article about "Laoshan Daoist" about "Wall-piercing Technique". Later generations once made a profound evaluation of Pu Songling: "Writing people write ghosts is superior to people, and thorns are greedy and abusive into the wood for three points."
