Especially withstood the severe test of the epidemic in 2020, the county received a total of 7.904 million tourists, recovering to 61.27% of the same period last year; achieving a comprehensive tourism income of 7.01 billion yuan, recovering to 73% of the same period last year, and the recovery situation was better than the national and provincial and municipal levels.

From January to August 2021, Shilin County received 6.5835 million tourists, an increase of 51.49% year-on-year, recovering to 64.8% in the same period of 2019; achieving a comprehensive tourism income of 7.115 billion yuan, an increase of 207.15% year-on-year, and recovering to 89.56% in the same period of 2019.

Up to now, Shilin County has a total of 1 5A scenic spot, 2 4A scenic spots, 1 3A scenic spot, 1 national forest park, 1 provincial tourist resort, 1 theme park, 1 provincial cultural and creative industry park, and in 2019, Chenggong was created as the first batch of global tourism demonstration areas in the country.

In 2020, the Kunming Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government proposed the functional positioning of Stone Forest to build an internationally renowned tourist destination. To this end, Shilin County will clearly focus on the two goals of internationally renowned tourist destinations and modern agricultural bases, highlight the three advantages of Shilin's tourism resources, Ashima culture and transportation location, and put forward the "51068" key task of global tourism development:

"5" is in accordance with the development model of "one theme, one family banquet, one performing arts, one set of products, and one integrated construction";

"10" is the implementation of the "Ten Ones" project of global tourism, specifically to promote a number of major cultural tourism projects, build a camping base, a recreation and sports base, a boutique self-driving tourism route, a red theme education route, a characteristic tourist town, a characteristic block, a tourism culture and performing arts products, introduce an international brand hotel chain, and build a smart tourism platform;

"6" is to accelerate the promotion of Kunming's "Colorful World" cultural tourism, Sunac Tourism Resort, Ashima Cultural Tourism Town, Changhu International Camping Base, the overall development of The Great StackEdi Water Scenic Area, Naigu Stone Forest Live Performance and other key projects;

Next, Shilin will closely follow the work ideas of the key tasks of "51068" global tourism development, and determine the Ashima Cultural Tourism Town, Kunming Colorful World Cultural Tourism, Sunac Tourism Resort, Changhu International Camping Base, The Overall Development of Dadishui Scenic Area, and the Key Cultural Tourism Project with a total investment of 24.3 billion yuan in 6 major areas of Naigu Stone Forest Live-action Performing Arts, supporting and improving the six elements of eating, living, traveling, entertainment, and purchasing tourism, so as to achieve the five goals of "one theme, one family banquet, one performing arts, one set of products, and one integrated construction".
