On July 8, Beijing time, Shanghai Shenhua Club officially announced that Sharavi was about to join. According to foreign media reports, Shenhua will sign a three-year contract with Shalawi, and its annual salary will reach 13 million euros after tax.

Sharawi, born on October 27, 1992 in the port city of Savona in northwestern Italy, plays as a striker, is 178cm tall, weighs 73kg, and has dual Italian and Egyptian citizenship. Coming from genoa academy in Serie A, Sharawi made his first-team debut in December 2008 at the age of 16.

Before playing for Roma, he played for Genoa, Padua, AC Milan and Monaco. During his time at AC Milan in the 2011–2015 season, Sharawi played 102 games for the Rossoneri, scoring 27 goals and assisting 13 goals. In the 2016 season, Shaarawi moved to Roma and made 139 appearances for Roma in the next three seasons, scoring 40 goals and assisting 26 goals. In the past 18/19 season, Shaarawi made 33 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League, scoring 11 goals and contributing 7 assists. At the national team level, Sharawi chose to play for Italy, making 23 appearances for the Italian national team and scoring 3 goals.

Shenhua Club officially said: Shanghai Greenland Shenhua Football Club and Italy Roma Football Club reached a transfer agreement, with Italian and Egyptian dual citizenship player Stephan El Shaarawy is expected to arrive in Shanghai on July 8, Beijing time, after passing the club's physical examination and completing the relevant procedures, officially joined Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.

At the same time, the club also expects that the addition of Sharavi can strengthen the attacking power of Shenhua's frontcourt and enrich the offensive means, and hopes that Sharavi will integrate into the team as soon as possible and help the team destroy the city, overcome difficulties and achieve more victories in the second half of the season.

This summer, Sharawi was caught up in the rumors of a transfer to Shenhua early on, saying in an interview with foreign media: "I am only 26 years old, I don't want to leave European football so early."

According to foreign media reports, because Sharavi only has the last 1 year left in his contract, his transfer fee is 18 million euros, the two sides signed a contract for 3 years, and his annual salary reaches 13 million euros after tax, I am afraid that this is also an important factor for Sharawi to play in China.
