Gerald Green appeared at the Rockets' press conference today, announcing his retirement and joining the Rockets coaching staff as a player development coach.
Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said: "Gerrard and I have talked a lot over the last few days and I told him I had to retire at 22 and his career was much stronger than mine. ”
Green said: "I knew that when it was all over, I might hide in the bathroom and cry like a child. I sleep, I eat, I breathe, my body is all Houston. I'm probably the only coach with such a tattoo. ”
Gerald Green was the 2005 No. 18 pick and spent 12 years playing for the Celtics, Timberwolves, Lone Rangers, Nets, Pacers, Suns, Heat, and Rockets. He won the 2007 Dunk Contest.
