Wang Zhifei, male, born in 1986, Han ethnicity, member of China Artists Association, member of Henan Artists Association. He graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Henan Normal University with a bachelor's degree in 2008 and graduated from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree in 2011. 2018~2019 Visiting Scholar of Domestic Young Backbone Teachers of School of Fine Arts, Capital Normal University. He is currently working in the Fine Arts Department of the School of Art and Design of Huanghuai University.
Before deciding to write about Wang Zhifei, I thought about it for a while, and I thought that I could not and should not write about him in decent words. I have seen the daily class works he posted in the WeChat circle of friends. I know that although he is introverted on the outside, he must be free and unrestrained on the inside. His pen and ink are free and flexible by the infection of his enthusiasm, and reading his works, the heart has always been moved. A personal character who comes from real life and falls on the paper through the reflection of his heart has a strong life and personality, ordinary as you and me, real as you and me. Emotional, clinging to the pen. That's how his work gives me.
The reporter has interviewed many calligraphers and painters, most of whom have been diligently pursuing calligraphy and painting since childhood. Wang Zhifei is an exception, in the second year of high school, on the one hand, the class teacher advised him to study art, on the other hand, the pressure from the college entrance examination. After weighing it up, he chose to take the path of an art student. He was later admitted to Henan Normal University. In his sophomore year, he realized something and began to focus on his profession. Maybe it's hard work, maybe it's talent, maybe it's both, and I went ashore to the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in the First World War. In the same room with masters from all over the country, his self-confidence and sense of honor were stimulated. He let the tutors and classmates see a different person than in the past. Soon, his work "State of Existence" participated in the Sixth Exhibition of Chinese Paintings in Western China and won the Excellence Award, which allowed him to find his own positioning and the direction of life. Wang Zhifei's gongbi character is full of life. Most of the young people in the picture are expressed, always so close to the current state of life of young people, after the 80s and 90s, these vivid, vibrant, independent personality, label-clear contemporary youth, by him with the most traditional Chinese brush and ink to express, there is no sense of violation.

"Rainy Road"
His works can be divided into two categories to observe, one is based on the life of contemporary youth and the expression of romantic feelings. Wang Zhifei observes life from a new perspective, sets an aesthetic orientation with a new perspective, structures the picture in a new form, and expresses his feelings with a new language.
"Urban Noon"
Another type of his works, such as "City Noon", which was selected for the 13th National Art Exhibition, shows the life style of urban people, who are either optimistic or confused, and their commonplace living conditions and spiritual outlook are all under Wang Zhifei's artistic insight and artistic inspiration. In these two types of themes with different brush strokes, the concentrated representative of Wang Zhifei's pen character image allows us to peek into the contemporary spiritual outlook and life situation, showing the vivid contemporary characteristics.

Further refining Wang Zhifei's works, I feel that he regards painting as "playing", "playing" is a game, is a kind of consideration of the free situation, "Yiren entertainment", this "tour" word, should be an excellent footnote to "play". In Wang Zhifei's paintings, the random dot dyeing and hasty sketching seem to be inadvertent, but in fact reflect the high degree of self-consciousness of the subject of the painting. This self-realization is the contemplation of man and the Tao. Only in the middle of the road can there be the freedom to undress. "Gongbi painting is the art of line modeling, and line is the backbone of Gongbi painting." Wang Zhifei believes that the lines of Gong pen painting must be smooth, strong, and changeable. At the same time, a good brush stroke must be able to have six aspects, such as charm, line, shape, dyeing, details, and comprehensive effect.
In the history of painting in China, figure painting has its own special art system, and strives to have both form and spirit, vivid charm, and render the personality of the characters under the background of the atmosphere. Therefore, many artists paint, or carefully observe the objectively existing character objects, or in-depth study of a large number of ancient materials as creative materials, they integrate the portraits of the characters into the beauty of art, and transform the artistic image based on both authenticity and higher than the portrait creation of ordinary people. Especially in women's pen and ink expression, due to differences in image and aesthetic standards, they mostly use rich techniques, pay attention to the expression of emotions, and pursue elegance. Wang Zhifei is also keen on the performance of this kind of subject, he renders pen and ink on paper with rigorous and delicate brushwork, presents a plain picture in the form of art, and realizes the artistic conception of life.
More than ten years of immersion in the artistic road have enhanced Wang Zhifei's ability to control the techniques of gongbi figure painting. In Wang Zhifei's pen, those characters are gentle and introverted, mostly exuding a lonely, low-key and subtle beauty in an elegant form, full of hope in the vigorous posture of life, and the painting is endless and endless.

In his character painting creation, whether it is a gentle and amorous woman or a vibrant youth portrait, he always bases himself on the times, takes materials from life, constructs the modeling language with exquisite and delicate line drawing and simple and peaceful coloring, and deeply excavates the spiritual connotation of the characters themselves. He constantly creates the temperament and beauty of the vivid image of the characters, conveys the spirit of the object, and the lyricism is expressive, and these are the natural flow of his mood.
Wang Zhifei was born in 1986, belongs to the typical new generation of the 1980s, the future is still a long way, I believe he will bring more surprises.
