It's official! After months of speculation and wishful thinking, CBS All Access confirmed that Captain Pike was returning to race with spock and car number one and starring in a new spin-off series, Star Trek: A Novelty World.
Pike (played by Anson Mount), Spock (Ethan Peck) and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) recently appeared in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery. They will reprie their role in Strange New Worlds — the first of two new live-action Star Trek spin-offs from CBS All Access.
The Hollywood Reporter made the announcement on Friday (May 15) that, despite the slow progress of the evidence, steadily amassed a very real possibility.
The new show will follow the crew of the USS Enterprise, and then Captain Kirk takes command of the famous starship.
In the "Star Trek" slaying, Pike took over the USS Enterprise in 2250, and 15 years later took over the using of the BATTLESHIP James F. Kennedy. Captain T. Kirk succeeded him. During his tenure at Starfleet, Pike is considered one of the most decorated starship captains in starfleet history. The events of the second season of Discovery took place around 2257, so we have about eight years to set this new season.

Alex Kurtzman will be in charge of the show's performances, so Heather Kadin, Henry Alonso Myers and Akiva Goldsman will also serve as co-executive producers.
