Beijing, 22 Jul (Reporter Wang Hao) -- On 22 July, the Ministry of Water Resources held a flood prevention meeting and chamber of commerce to study and deploy flood prevention work in the Haihe, Yellow, and Huaihe river basins, as well as typhoons and rainstorms.

Affected by heavy rainfall, the Zhangwei River in the Haihe River Basin experienced flood No. 1 of 2021; 11 rivers in the Haihe, Huaihe and other river basins exceeded the warning flood, and some small and medium-sized rivers experienced super-guarantee and super-historical floods. It is expected that in the next three days, due to the influence of cold and warm air and Typhoon No. 6 and No. 7, there will be heavy rainfall in North China, Huanghuai, South China, Jiangnan and other places; the Zhangwei River, Ziya River, Daqing River in the Haihe River Basin, the Yiluo River and Qin River in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, the Hongru River, Shaying River and Lixia River areas in the Huai River Basin, the Taihu Lake and the surrounding river network area, the Yujiang River in the Pearl River Basin, the Southern Guangdong Coast and the Nandu River in Hainan, and other rivers will have obvious flooding processes, and some rivers in the rainstorm area may have larger floods.

The Ministry of Water Resources analyzes and judges the development trend of Typhoons No. 6 and No. 7 on a rolling basis, and supervises and guides river basin management agencies and provincial water conservancy departments to prepare and prevent plans in advance based on the most unfavorable situations such as extreme heavy rainfall and excessive standard floods.
