Finally finished watching this 116-minute sci-fi thriller movie, to be honest, sci-fi is still on the side, but the thriller is really not felt.

Although it is a science fiction film, the deep part is a drama film about human nature. Douban score 5.1, in terms of science fiction elements and plot, I personally think it can still score 6 points. As long as you can read it with patience, it is still good overall.
The beginning of the story begins with the launch of the spaceship. Although it was a bit bumpy, it finally took off smoothly.
The captain and two crew scientists, David and doctor Zoe, prepare to go on a mission to Mars. During a space flight, michael, a ground pilot who accidentally landed on the spacecraft, was launched with the spacecraft and struck the carbon dioxide filter in the bumps of the acceleration process and was scratched by its debris.
The spacecraft was designed to carry only two people, three of whom were already overloaded, and now there was one more person, and the carbon dioxide filter was broken, and they would all die of lack of oxygen before they reached their destination.
David tried to alleviate the crisis with precious experimental algae, but was unable to solve the problem.
The only way to do this unexpected "burden" is to let this unexpected "burden" die to reduce oxygen consumption. So David secretly took Zoe's medicine and tried to persuade Michael to commit suicide, but Zoe firmly disagreed when he found out.
Because Michael was untrained and injured, David and Zoe had to carry the oxygen cylinder through the solar panels to the other side of the ship to get oxygen.
Things were not destined to go well, and after getting the first bottle, the solar storm came, and Zoe not only lost a bottle that had arrived in her hand, but also dropped an unfilled oxygen bottle in the panic.
In order to keep everyone alive, Zoe decided to sacrifice herself to brave the solar storm to retrieve the remaining bottle. After saying goodbye, Zoe walked out of the safety cabin and retrieved the surviving bottle of oxygen for the three of them.
She was also subjected to deadly solar radiation. At the end of the film, Zoe slowly sits outside the cabin and looks at the red planet in the vast universe, remembering what she once said.
What does the last sentence, "The True Meaning of Life," refer to Zoe. In my understanding, she thinks her sacrifice was worth it. Not only David, but also Michael, and most importantly, the mission, the efforts of mankind to explore the universe.
We stare at the universe, and the universe is staring at us. From the first person in space in the Soviet era, Gagarin was the first to enter space, and to this day, 18 astronauts have sacrificed to explore the universe, and several of them are still "adrift" in this vast sea of stars.
The pioneers who will always miss these human beings, it is their sacrifices that make the footsteps of mankind continue to move into the depths of the universe.
