Born in wartime Paris, Barbara's artistic career was bumpy and legendary, with a homeless childhood, a resident singer in a restaurant club, Barbara's thin figure and the sadness in her song, which finally gave her an irreplaceable position in the French music scene. In 1965, her album Barbara Sings Barbara was a great success and won the Charles College Record Award.
