The purest writer

□ Cheng Jun

● How to define his identity? He was nothing more than an obscure ordinary writer. But he loved writing, and he never took publishing and publishing works as his goal, and he never wanted to gain fame and fortune through writing.

It's not that he doesn't take writing seriously, on the contrary, he's the one who values writing the most. He never had much hope in his life, and he was a humble insurance clerk.

In his view, writing is his way of life, his way of communicating with the world, and he writes only for himself. At the end of his life, he repeatedly instructed his friends to burn all his works. Because in his view, the mission of these works has been completed. Fortunately, this friend did not follow his will, thus giving the world a chance to know and know him again.

● He was Kafka, the pioneer of European modernist literature. A person who regards writing as life, he is not willing to use his "life" to cater to anyone, and he is not willing to exchange "life" for something, which in his view is simply a kind of blasphemy.

● The reason why later generations revere Kafka is not only because of his outstanding literary achievements, but also because of his non-utilitarian attitude that he has always maintained in literature. He is truly the purest writer.
