Hong Kong Customs cracked the largest diamond smuggling case on record worth HK$25 million

Hong Kong, June 4 (China News Service) -- The Hong Kong Customs announced on the 4th that the Sea Customs had cracked a diamond smuggling case on the 3rd, with the value of the smuggled goods amounting to about 25 million Hong Kong dollars.

Customs said in the announcement that the suspected smuggled jewelry seized by Customs at the Sha Tau Kok Control Station on the 3rd included about 1300 diamonds, 10 sapphires, 1 jadeite and about 30 grams of broken diamonds. The suspected smuggling of jewelry was mixed with gold, and customs arrested a 47-year-old man.
