President of Turkey: A border wall will be built on the Turkish-Iranian border

On the 18th local time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey will build a border wall in the 4 border provinces bordering Iran.

According to the report of Turkey's Anadolu News Agency, Erdogan said in a joint interview with a number of media on the 18th that with the increase in the number of illegal immigrants recently, turkey has taken many different measures to maintain border security. It is planned to build a border wall in the four provinces of Al- and Khakali, Van and Erder, which border Iran.

At present, the construction of the border wall in the provinces of Al and Erder has been completed, and half of the work has been completed in the khakali province, and the construction of the border wall in the provinces of Van is being stepped up. Now that the 157-kilometer border wall has been completed, the earthmoving side will complete the construction of the remaining part as soon as possible.

Erdogan stressed that the construction of the border wall is not only to stop the flow of illegal immigration, but also to combat terrorism. He said that the border wall consists of a 3-meter-high concrete wall and a 1-meter-high barbed wire mesh, and the wall is also equipped with a thermal imager and lighting system.

In addition, in order to monitor illegal immigration activities in a timely manner, Turkey is constructing electronic watchtowers and communication towers at the eastern border. (Reporter Yan Wei)
