In 2020, the National Health Commission approved a total of 30 new varieties of food additives; new varieties of food additives need to be subject to technical review and public solicitation of opinions before being approved, which can be found by the website of the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center (CFSA), and in 2020, CFSA released 27 new varieties of food additives for public comment; at the same time, the National Health Commission accepted a total of 73 new varieties of additive declarations throughout the year. In order to facilitate the small partners to understand the overall declaration of new varieties of food additives in 2020, the registration department of the food partner network has conducted the following inventory.

  01 Announcement and approval of new varieties of food additives

  In 2020, the National Health Commission approved a total of 30 new varieties of food additives through announcements No. 4, 2020 And No. 6 and 8 of 2020, including 14 new varieties of enzyme preparations for the food industry, 1 new variety of food additives, and 15 kinds of food additives that expand the scope of use/use (of which 3 are processing aids and 2 are nutritional enhancers), as follows.

  According to statistics, from 2015 to 2020, a total of 186 new varieties of food additives have been approved, of which 66 are approved with new varieties (including 26 new varieties of spices, 21 new varieties of enzyme preparations for the food industry, 11 new varieties of general food additives and 8 new varieties of nutritional enhancers), and 120 kinds of new varieties of nutritional enhancers have been approved to expand the scope of use and use (including 15 kinds of processing aids for food industry and 8 kinds of nutritional enhancers). New varieties of food additives are mainly approved in the form of expanding the scope of use and the amount of use.

  02 New varieties of food additives are publicly solicited for comments

  In 2020, the Food Safety Risk Assessment Center solicited public opinions on new varieties of food additives 6 times, involving 27 products that passed the technical review of the expert review committee, including 1 new variety of food nutrition enhancers, 7 new varieties of enzyme preparations for food industry, 1 new variety of processing aids for food industry, and 18 kinds of food additives that expand the scope of use/use (including 2 kinds of nutritional enhancers and 4 kinds of processing aids for food industry). In addition, the protein glutamyl enzyme, manganese sulfate, red yeast red, citric acid, sucralose, dl-tartaric acid, sodium hexametaphosphate and other varieties that were publicly solicited for comments on February 20 and June 1 have been officially approved.   03 Acceptance of new varieties of food additives

  In 2020, the National Health Commission accepted a total of 73 new varieties of food additives, among which tamarind polysaccharide gum, protease, sucrose fatty acid ester, potassium sorbate, streptococcus lactate, xylanase, phosphoric acid (wet method), Koderan gum, red yeast red, silicon dioxide, α-amylase, 6S-5-methyltetrahydrofolate calcium and other varieties have been accepted many times, as follows.
