Located along the Bailong River, Tsui Shang Village, Fengdi Town, has sufficient rainfall, humid climate, obvious vertical change of climate, and large temperature difference between day and night, which is very suitable for persimmon growth. The persimmons here are sweet and delicious, with a lot of flesh and plenty of moisture, which is loved by everyone. However, due to the short storage period of persimmons and the closed sales channels, persimmons can only be exchanged for potatoes or sold cheaply on the side of the road.
In 2019, Zhouqu County fully implemented the national e-commerce into rural comprehensive demonstration project, and Zhang Jinlian seized the opportunity. She also made wine persimmons and persimmon cakes in the circle of friends, Kuaishou, and Douyin to promote. Unexpectedly, the pre-stored persimmons were sold out in just a few days. In 2019, Zhang Jinlian sold more than 50,000 catties of persimmons, opening up a new way for the sales of persimmons in the town.
Persimmon sales have opened, but the two products of wine persimmon and persimmon cake are only available in spring and autumn, how to extend the industrial chain of persimmons and achieve higher value has become a new problem faced by Zhang Jinlian. Through continuous experimentation, she has developed more new products, such as persimmon noodles in winter and persimmon pickles in summer, forming a complete industrial chain.
This year, persimmons have not yet been listed, and there are customers in Suzhou who call to order. Since she and the villagers had signed a long-term supply agreement long ago, Zhang Jinlian quickly assured the other party of the supply, and the villagers' income was also guaranteed.
At present, Zhang Jinlian's e-commerce service point operation is on the right track. This year, more than 80,000 catties of persimmons have been purchased, helping each poor household to increase their income by more than 1,000 yuan.
