More powerful new varieties tentatively named "Jing Tu Hong"
White flower jade seeds, safflower jade seeds, red agate... These Huaiyuan pomegranate varieties, which have become well-known, are loved by many consumers and have also entered the fruit baskets and tables of thousands of households. Recently, Bengbu released a reporter from the relevant departments to learn that the Huaiyuan pomegranate family is going to "Add Ding imports", a more powerful new variety has been bred, it is an upgraded version of the jade seed series, named "Jing Tu Hong" (tentative name).
"This new variety is a new member of the Huaiyuan pomegranate jade seed family, which not only inherits the excellent genes of jade seeds, but also has its own more advanced mutations." Gao Jie, senior engineer of the Municipal Forestry Station, introduced that the new variety of Jing tu hong is a bud from the jade seed series, and after pre-selection, preliminary selection, re-selection, and final selection, the planting personnel will pick, cut and try to plant the most excellent plants, after more than ten years of careful breeding, this variety has finally ushered in a bumpy harvest this year, and attracted experts from inside and outside the province to come to examine and approve its forest varieties.
According to reports, at present, There are 15 varieties (lines) of Huaiyuan pomegranate, which are divided into three categories: green skin, pink skin and white skin. There are 6 varieties of safflower jade seeds, agate seeds (red agate), big stupid seeds, two stupid seeds, green skin and thin skin rough, etc.; there are 4 varieties of green pink skin, pink skin, fire gourd and cannabis; and 3 varieties of white skin include white flower jade seed, fengbai and ordinary white pomegranate. In addition, there are 2 varieties of melaleuca pomegranates. Experts from the former Soviet Union, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and other countries have visited Huaiyuan to introduce species. Among them, the white flower jade seed pomegranate is the best in Huaiyuan pomegranate, not only large fruit, large grain, sweet taste (sugar content 15% to 17%), soft core, good appearance, and early maturity (mature in mid-to-late September), high yield.
"Jing tu hong this variety after more than ten years of breeding to achieve stable production, compared with the previous varieties, the advantages of this variety is more obvious, the taste is better, the market competitiveness will be stronger." Yao Dengbo, vice president of the Bengbu Flower Association, introduced that more than a decade ago, his team found a buddy plant that appeared on an old tree of white flower jade seeds, and the new varieties that mutated absorbed the appearance characteristics of white flower jade seeds and safflower jade seeds in appearance, with bright red particles, full flesh, and no loss of white flower jade seeds on the head, but the taste was richer than the previous varieties. Soon, fruit farmers began to try to plant this new variety in Jingtu Mountain, and after careful breeding and improvement, the 60 acres of new variety test field in Jingtu Mountain Scenic Area ushered in a bumper harvest this year. In the process of growth and picking, the red of thorns is more resistant to disease and stress, and it is less constrained by weather factors when picking.
