Yang Hui, a 25-year-old boy from Jingmen, Hubei Province, is a freight driver. He told reporters that on the evening of April 17, he delivered to Hunan Yacheng New Materials Co., Ltd. in Ningxiang and accidentally fell into the hot pool containing ferrous sulfate at the plant while unloading.
"I delivered it there on the evening of April 17th, and I only know that the goods I sent were called ferrous sulfate, which was sent from a company in Hubei to Yacheng New Material Factory in Ningxiang. There was a pool with a small bridge in the middle of the pool, and he asked us to drive the car to the top of the bridge and unload it, and then wash it clean after unloading. Yang Hui said.
Yang Hui provided a video to reporters. He said it was taken by the driver who delivered the goods with him on the night of the incident. In the video, the hot pool containing ferrous sulfate has turned dark green, and Yang Hui introduced that the pool itself is boiling hot water, requiring workers to pour ferrous sulfate into it and mix it.

"When I was rushing the head wheels, I accidentally fell into the pool of ferrous sulfate, which was a chemical, and the temperature inside was particularly high, and it just happened that the people we were traveling with were helping me to flush the car, and when they saw me, they quickly pulled me up. As soon as I pulled it up, I took off my clothes, my whole body was still burned, and the whole piece of skin fell down. Yang Hui told reporters, "We used to pull goods, never told us about this thing, nor did we say this pool, there was no safety warning slogan next to it, we unloaded the goods without even a person, and then there was no railing, no protective measures, no safety measures." ”
After the incident, Yang Hui was taken to the hospital. According to the doctor, Yang Hui's life was in danger when he was admitted to the hospital.
"He was a very severe burn, and there were inhalation injuries at the time, possibly inhaling some of the wastewater from ferrous sulfate. The total burn area exceeds 50%, and it is mainly deep burns. The patient's condition is critical. The doctor said that because it was burned by a chemical solution, not only the temperature was high, but also corrosive, Yang Hui's burn was far more serious than the general burn.
"His pool is in an acidic state, unlike our usual hot water scalds or other burns, because there is an acidic liquid, his scalding situation is much more serious than normal."
