
Located in the central part of Jiangsu, Xinghua City has flourished since ancient times, from the Southern Song Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, Xinghua has a total of 262 people in the middle, 93 people in the jinshi, 1 person in the middle of the Zhuangyuan. Of the 93 jinshi, 34 came from the same street, which is Confucianism Street in the center of Xinghua Old Town.
Confucianism Street is named after fan Zhongyan's "Confucian Monument" of the Northern Song Dynasty, in this ancient cultural street, not only has a dotted place of interests and cultural landscapes, including ancient mansions, ancient temples, ancient ancestral halls, ancient archways, ancient gardens, ancient laneways and a number of rare ancient trees and famous trees, but also preserves a number of buildings such as "Zai Xiang Mansion" and "JinshiDi". The former residences of Ming Dynasty prime ministers Wu Yong and Gao Gu, the former residences of Zheng Banqiao, the early representatives of the "Yangzhou School", the former residences of the scribes Ren Chen Jin and Ren Dachun, the former residences of the master of traditional Chinese studies Li Zhenyan, and many other famous figures in the history of Xinghua are located on this street.
There have been many arches on Confucian Street, as many as dozens of them from east to west, such as the "Wenzheng Fang" set up for Fan Zhongyan, the "University Scholar Fang" that honored Li Chunfang, the "Loyalty and Integrity Fang" established for Xie Xuelong, the Inspector of The Ming Dynasty, and the "Zhongyuan Caizi Fang" established for the Zongchen. Confucianism Street is also home to the old-fashioned "Temple of Literature".
The current Confucian Street has been transformed by the local government to "repair the old as old", and still maintains the antique charm of the old times. At the same time, Xinghua City also made full use of these ancient buildings, set up "Bi Feiyu Studio" in Confucian Street, and held a "literary salon" to serve literary lovers in the Xinghua area. It also set up a square bookstore in Bi Feiyu Studio, purchased books, provided free reading space for the public, and volunteer writers composed of famous writers and Xinghua literature lovers volunteered to guide primary and secondary school students to read and write.
