Guizhuang was the great-grandson of the Ming dynasty essayist Gui Youguang. With Gu Yanwu tongli classmates, together to participate in the revival of the society, shared the fame, when people were called "Guiqi Gu Wei". The book was first published in 1962, and when it was republished, some supplementary materials were added, and later included in the series.
