Introduction to Wang Jiayin, the early leader of the peasant revolt in the late Ming Dynasty, How did Wang Jiayin die?

Someone once said that the reason why the Ming Dynasty fell was because there was no money! Although not all the reasons, it has to be admitted that the emptiness of the national treasury was indeed an important reason for the overthrow of the Ming dynasty's rule.

Although after the fall of the Ming Dynasty, the unification of China was the Qing Dynasty established by the Jurchens. However, it is accurately explained that the Dynasty was not overthrown by the Qing Dynasty, but by the rebel army.

In the seventeenth year of Chongzhen, the peasant rebel army led by Li Zicheng attacked Beijing, and the Chongzhen Emperor issued an edict and hanged himself at Meishan. The fall of Beijing and the death of the Chongzhen Emperor marked the demise of the Ming Dynasty. Although the Ming Dynasty clan subsequently established political power in Nanjing, Fujian and other places, it can only be called the "Small Court of the Southern Ming Dynasty" in history, and does not represent the Ming Dynasty.

At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the peasant uprising movement was vigorous, and there were countless rebels in various places. The leaders of the uprising that we are more familiar with are Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong. But they are actually the leaders of the late uprising, and the real prelude to the peasant uprising against government rule is someone else. Wang Jiayin was the leader of the early peasant uprising, and when he raised the banner of the uprising, countless responders from all over the country, such as Gao Yingxiang and Wang Ziyong, led their own people to listen to Wang Jiayin's dispatches.

Most of the people in China are very peaceful, as long as they have land, as long as they eat, they don't care who sits on the throne. But on the contrary, if they can't afford to eat and have no way to live, you will still pick up the hoe and rebel against the government's rule. The reason why the dynasty collapsed was that there was no money was because the imperial court could not come up with money to help the people.

Introduction to Wang Jiayin, the early leader of the peasant revolt in the late Ming Dynasty, How did Wang Jiayin die?

In the last years of the Ming Dynasty, the government was decaying, and there were strong enemies outside to spy on, and the military food needed was innumerable. War is not about military strength, but about economy. A war often requires a lot of financial and material resources. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, there was a serious border problem and there was a constant need for military supplies. And this money is scraped from the people.

The strict taxes have made the people complain, but God has not opened his eyes, and various natural disasters have come to the world. In the first year of Chongzhen, there was a drought in Shaanxi. Chongzhen two years, Shaanxi drought, Chongzhen three years, Shaanxi drought, Chongzhen four years, Shaanxi drought. Successive droughts have left the heavens and the earth without harvest. Without a harvest, you can't afford to eat. Without food to eat, they eat people and eat their stomachs, and the situation is tragic.

In such a serious disaster, it is reasonable to say that the imperial court should quickly provide disaster relief and rescue the people. But the national treasury does not have a penny, what kind of disaster relief? So I could only turn a blind eye to these disasters, blindfold my eyes and ears, and just don't know. I couldn't afford to eat, and in order to survive, everyone fought. It doesn't matter what kind of rebellion and kill the head, anyway, it is all a death, it is better to fight. Therefore, when Wang Jiayin raised the banner of resistance, countless people flocked to it, and soon became the climate.

In addition to the disaster, there is also the second year of Chongzhen, the measure of dismantling the post, which also caused tens of thousands of people to lose their jobs. These people, who originally lived on the salaries paid by the government, now lost their jobs and had another disaster, which was equivalent to completely losing their lives, so they also responded to the call of the uprising.

Wang Jiayin joined the army in the early years and later fled back to his hometown. After the famine, together with Wu Yangui and others, a large number of victims were organized to unveil the poles. Because he was an official, he was able to effectively rule the rebel army against the officers and soldiers. The rebel army led by Wang Jiayin openly robbed the rich and helped the poor, opposed the rule of the government, and opened the prelude to the peasant revolt at the end of the Ming Dynasty.

The uprising activities flourished, the rebel army quickly grew to tens of thousands of people, and the war spread to the three provinces of Jin, Ning, Gansu and Gansu. Wang Jiayin led the army and officers and soldiers to resist to a critical moment, but was killed by internal traitors.

According to historical records, in the fourth year of Chongzhen, the rebel army was besieged by Cao Wenzhao's heavy troops and transferred to the area around Yangcheng in Shanxi. When Wang Jiayin was drunk and asleep at night, he was murdered by Zhang Liwei and Wang Guozhong, who had infiltrated the tent.

Wang Guozhong was Wang Jiayin's compatriot, and Zhang Liwei was Wang Jiayin's brother-in-law. Wang Guozhong defected to Wang Jiayin in the early years, and Zhang Liwei was originally a subordinate of the Ming general Cao Wenzhao. Zhang Liwei took the initiative to suggest that he gain trust as Wang Jiayin's wife and brother and go to Wang Jiayin's hands as an internal traitor.

When Wang Jiayin trusted the two, he killed Wang Jiayin. Afterwards, Zhang Liwei was made a deputy general of the Left Guard By the Chongzhen Emperor, and was posthumously given the title of General of dragon and tiger. After Wang Guozhong killed Wang Jiayin, he was made the deputy general of Puzhou, but was later captured by Li Zicheng and killed to pay for Wang Jiayin's life.
