Qi is five tastes, manifested in five colors, displayed as five sounds, and when it passes, it faints, and the people lose their nature, so rituals are made to make it follow: six animals, five animals, and three beasts are formulated so that the five tastes can be followed. Nine texts, six collections, and five chapters were formulated so that the five colors could be followed. Nine songs, eight winds, seven tones, and six laws were formulated so that the five voices could be followed. Establish the relationship between the king and the subordinates to imitate the norms of the earth. Develop relationships inside and outside the couple to regulate both things. The relationship between father and son, brother, sister, nephew, son-in-law, and brother-in-law is established to symbolize the wisdom of heaven. The people have likes and dislikes, moods and sorrows, and they are derived from the six qi, so it is necessary to carefully imitate and imitate them appropriately to restrain the six aspirations. There is weeping in sorrow, song and dance in joy, almsgiving in joy, and fighting in anger. Joy comes from hobbies, and anger comes from dislikes. Therefore, it is necessary to act prudently, to make orders trustworthy, and to reward and punish with misfortune and blessing to restrain death and life. Life is something that people like. Death is something that people hate. The thing I like is joy. The nasty thing is sadness. Joy is not lost in courtesy, it can harmonize the nature of heaven and earth, and therefore can be long-lasting. Zhao Jianzi said, "The greatness of the ceremony has reached its extreme!" Uncle Zi replied, "Etiquette is the discipline of the upper and lower levels, the criterion of heaven and earth, and the basis for the survival of the people, so the previous kings respected it, so people who can be transformed by self-cultivation from different natures or directly reach the ceremony are called perfect people."
