Reed is a common plant that grows in rivers, lakes, ponds and ditches, and in low wetlands. Its rhizomes are four cloths, which have the effect of fixing the embankment. Large areas of reeds can not only regulate the climate, conserve water, the formation of a good wetland ecological environment, but also for birds to roost, forage, breeding home.
On the edge of the Gobi Desert in Yecheng County, wherever there is water, there are basically reeds, such as a village in Tieti Township on the Xinzang Line, an ecological forest farm transformed in the original desert of Jianglesi, and the Zonglang Lingquan Scenic Area, etc., all of which have blooming reed flowers, fluttering in the autumn wind, which is very beautiful. A poem praises the reed grass as such, "wet in the shallow water, a bush of graceful reeds; swaying in the wind, multi-gesture, simple and unpretentious and interesting".
According to the locals, in addition to playing an ecological role, reed grass has many practical functions in their lives, such as it can be made into a broom, and can also be made into a grass brush for playing bread and so on.
Patches of reed grass sparkle in the sunlight, and even have a sparkling feeling, after all, the fluttering reed grass is like a sea of flowers.
