"After five years in the village, I made this place my hometown"

"Captain Lee, it's hot, let's go home and drink water." "Captain Lee, come to my house for dinner at noon!" ...... In the hot summer, the villagers saw Li Jiantang, the leader of the poverty alleviation task force and the first secretary of the village in Longzui Village, Lianzhou Town, Lianzhou City, Qingyuan City, who was conducting outdoor research, and warmly invited him to his home.

However, 5 years ago, it was a different story. "I wasn't so enthusiastic when I first arrived in the village, but for the first week, the villagers saw me walking around, which was too much for me." Li Jiantang recalled. Now, 5 years later, Li Jiantang has become a guest and guest of the villagers. "After staying in the village for 5 years, I also regarded them as relatives and regarded this place as my hometown." Li Jiantang sighed.

Take the initiative to go to the grassroots frontline to alleviate poverty

Born in 1978, Li Jiantang is a native of Zhucheng, Shandong. In 2006, he changed careers and was transferred to the judicial police detachment of the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court in 2011. On May 6, 2016, Li Jiantang took the initiative to come to Longzui Village, Lianzhou Town, Lianzhou City, as the leader of the poverty alleviation task force and the first secretary of the village, and began his own poverty alleviation journey in the village.

From 2016 to 2018, Li Jiantang was rated as a village-based cadre with outstanding contributions to poverty alleviation by Qingyuan City, and in 2018 and 2021, he was awarded the third class merit, and in 2020, he was awarded the "2020 Guangzhou Municipal 'Struggle in the Front Line' Communist Party Member Post Pacesetter".

"At that time, I didn't think much about it, and I felt that it was a very meaningful thing to help the villagers get rid of poverty and live a good life." Talking about the original choice, Li Jiantang scratched his head and said embarrassedly. "It's just so many years of hard work for my wife and seventy-something mother-in-law. The wife also served in the army and traveled frequently. My mother-in-law's health is not very good, but she insists on helping us bring up two children..." Speaking of this, Li Jiantang's eyes flashed with tears.

At the beginning of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic struck suddenly. Longzui Village has a large area and many inspection sites, so Li Jiantang led the villagers to patrol in groups. From February to May 2020, he did not return home once. Later, I had a meeting in Guangzhou and wanted to go home to see, but I was stopped by the guards in front of the family area of the troops, "I will first isolate for 14 days when I go in." "The epidemic prevention and control in the village can't wait so long!" Li Jiantang was anxious, and quickly called his wife to take his mother-in-law and two children, and after the family met across the fence, they rushed back to the village overnight.

Take the villagers' difficulties as their own

In order not to disappoint the trust of the villagers, after finding out the situation in the village, Li Jiantang held a meeting with the village-based work team and the village committee to plan a work plan, "Poverty alleviation is a thousand and one problems, but priority must be given to solving the most urgent difficulties of the villagers." Li Jiantang's idea was unanimously supported by everyone.

"There is bad feng shui there, and I do not agree with the relocation." In the project of renovating dangerous houses, Liang Donglian, a poor household, strongly opposed it.

"Are you doing feng shui in a good place now?" The houses are about to collapse, there is no job, no daughter-in-law. Maybe it's better to change the feng shui in another place. Li Jiantang came to his door again and again to have a long talk with him. Finally, Liang Donglian agreed to relocate. After that, Liang Donglian also found a job and joined the village-run cooperative, and his income more than doubled compared with the past.

"If you can build a house, it would be good to arrange the five insurance households together." Li Zhihui, former director of the village committee of Longtsui Village, said.

"That's a good idea! The average age of the five insured households in the village is more than seventy years old, and they can't afford to wait! After many communications and coordination with relevant departments, in the spring of 2017, Longzui Village built a new home covering an area of 230 square meters. Today, 9 elderly people living in it enjoy their old age.

The section from Xinlizhai to Longtsui Primary School passes through a rushing river, which is the only way for students to go to school. During the rainy season, the river rises without crossing the road, which is very dangerous. After Li Jiantang learned about the situation, he reported to the party group of the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court at the first time. Wang Yong, secretary of the party group of the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court, president, and head of the leading group for poverty alleviation work, attached great importance to it after learning about it, and immediately held a party group meeting to study and solve it, squeezed out 100,000 yuan from the hospital's funds, and helped build a spacious village road with a width of 4 meters and a length of 1500 meters.

Do everything possible to make the villagers' purses bulge

"We want to go out to work, but we're worried about being deceived..."

"Captain Li, you work in the court, can you give us a popularization of the law?"

After learning about everyone's ideas in small talk with the villagers, Li Jiantang took advantage of the rich judicial resources of the Guangzhou Intermediate Court of the "mother's family" and took advantage of various opportunities to go from village to village to preach legal knowledge such as labor law and civil code, take the initiative to provide legal assistance to migrant villagers, and resolve labor disputes and other disputes in a timely manner.

At this instigation, the villagers came out of the ravine. From less than 20 migrant workers in the village in 2016 to nearly 70 now, everyone's income has increased significantly.

In view of the small area available for farming in the village, Li Jiantang organized poor households with labor force to establish a professional cooperative for planting and breeding to develop planting and breeding. "Why can't I sell something?" In order to resolve the villagers' concerns, Li Jiantang promptly reported the situation to the party group of the Guangzhou Intermediate Court. Subsequently, the Guangzhou Intermediate Court launched the activity of "giving love to help alleviate poverty" and subscribed to the cooperative's agricultural products at a price not lower than the market price.

"Give me ten pounds of sweet potatoes!" "I want 100 eggs!" "Leave me two turkeys!" Every time the agricultural products arrive, they trigger a rush of cadres and policemen. "This measure not only enriches the villagers' money bags, but also enriches the food basket of the cadres and policemen." Li Jiantang said.

In addition, the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court's poverty alleviation team in the village has also transformed the "poverty alleviation workshop", helped Longzui Village to take a stake in the Tanling Hydropower Project, invested in the Lianzhou Poverty Alleviation and Development Fund, purchased excavators, and purchased "poverty alleviation shops" for rent. Since 2019, the village collective has a stable annual income of nearly 350,000 yuan.

After five years of assistance, the collective annual economic income of Longtsui Village increased by 17 times, and the per capita disposable income of the residents of the village increased from 11,000 yuan to 25,000 yuan. Longzui Village and the poor households in the village have all met the criteria for poverty alleviation and achieved "double listing". In the face of these achievements, Li Jiantang said: "I have not done enough to meet my expectations." ”

"The next time I come back, everyone will be able to say hello when they see me, and I will be satisfied." On the verge of leaving office in June, the seven-foot Shandong Han said emotionally.
