Gu Zhengwen found Duan Yunpeng and asked him to use light exercises to climb to the highest point in the area around Suncheonfu at night, carefully observe the lighting situation, and use this to spy on the activities in the suspicious house.

This was a catastrophe in the CCP's intelligence system, and Duan Yunpeng was one of the culprits. What is even more resentful is that on the eve of the liberation of Peiping, he assassinated He Siyuan, the former mayor of Beiping City of the Kuomintang, only because He Siyuan advocated the peaceful liberation of Peiping and tried to persuade Fu Zuoyi to negotiate with the Chinese Communists.

Duan Yunpeng had a very beautiful daughter, his daughter's fiancé was a pilot in the Fourth Brigade of the Kuomintang Air Force, and with the strong help of his daughter and son-in-law, Duan Yunpeng took the name of his son-in-law's father and fled Beiping with his wife and daughter by plane to Shanghai.
In May 1949, on the eve of the liberation of Shanghai, Duan Yunpeng fled to Taiwan by boat from Shanghai with the Secrecy Bureau.

By the first half of 1953, after more than two years of suppressing the counter-revolutionary movement, the lurking Kuomintang agents had been almost completely eliminated, and the public security bureaus of the two cities of Beijing and Tianjin not only controlled Duan Yunpeng's main contacts, but also arrested more than 60 agents who had been contacted and developed by him.
Faced with such a situation, in early 1954, chiang kai-shek, in order to boost morale, asked the Secret Bureau to arrange for Duan Yunpeng to infiltrate Beijing again to carry out sabotage activities.
At this time, although Duan Yunpeng had ten thousand unwilling, but the military orders were difficult to violate, he did not expect any big gains, he only wanted to return to the mainland to be able to retreat completely, but he did not know that the intelligence of sneaking back to the mainland had long been detected by our internal line and reported to the Ministry of Public Security.
One of the internal lines is particularly important, this inner line was named 003 by our public security organs. So who is "003"?
According to the records, this person was a drug dealer in history and had a friendship with Duan Yunpeng for more than ten years. As early as the Japanese pseudo-period, Duan Yunpeng was imprisoned twice for committing adultery, and the result was that he was saved by opening the joints by "fighting righteousness and neglecting wealth", so the two had a very thick friendship and became a brother in jinlan.
After the peaceful liberation of Peiping, our public security organs intensified their crackdown on the drug trade, and 003 fled to Hong Kong alone after staying in the Pingjin area, but still maintained contact with Duan Yunpeng in Taiwan.
