Zhu Ciqi (1807-1881) was born on the 22nd day of the eighth lunar month of the lunar calendar, the character Zhi Gui, the trumpet Zixiang, known as Mr. Jiujiang, a native of Nanhai, Guangdong (now Nanhai District, Foshan City).
Zhu Ciqi's calligraphy was rich and powerful, but he refused to write for others, and the world's biography was very rich, most of which belonged to the diary of the ruler manuscript, etc., and burned it on his deathbed. Although it is casually waved, it is already extremely strong and beautiful.
When Zhu Ciqi was four years old, he entered the family school, and the master of the school was zhu Xianglin, the uncle of the clan. At the age of five, he can use the sentence "Adult Tiger Change" to "Lao Tzu Dragon Bell", and he can fight decently and the sharp edge has just emerged. He began to compose poems at the age of seven, and at the age of twelve, he composed the poem "Huangmu Bay Viewing the Sea", which made Ruan Yuan, the governor of Liangguang, sigh in Ouyang Xiu's words of praise for Su Shi: "The old man should let go!" "New Pine" made when he was at Yuehua Academy: "The material may not be seen by thousands of people, but it is different to listen to the sound of the wind", which has extraordinary meaning and shocks the four seats.
Although Zhu Ciqi was already quite talented and famous in his youth, he was quite bumpy on the road of fighting in the field of science. In 1828, 1832, and 1837, he took the township examination three times and fell behind. Especially in the third, the most important first of the three township examinations, his poems have been selected as "recommended volumes", but the examiner did not understand the historical allusions in his articles, thinking that his test texts were sloppy.
Zhu Ciqi was selected as an excellent student by Nanhai County School three times, had the opportunity to take the "Yougong" examination, and enrolled in the Guozijian, at that time, many people even used heavy money to buy the qualification of excellent students, he got it with his own reputation, but he refused each time. In 1855, Zhu Ciqi resigned from the government and returned to the south, and received apprentices to give lectures at his hometown Lishan, and Kang Youwei, Jian Chaoliang, and Huang Luyi all went out of his door. In 1876, Kang Youwei worshipped him as a teacher.
Kang Youwei had followed six or seven teachers, but it was not until he came to Zhu Ciqi's door that he felt that he had found a real teacher.
