There is a "red village" in Jiaozuo whose name was changed by the two martyrs

Editor's note: A hundred years of style, the original intention is still the same. In 2021, we usher in the centenary of the Communist Party of China, Dahe Network specially launched a series of reports on "Tracing the Original Heart of the Central Plains", mainly focusing on party history, major events, important sites and red cultural relics, etc., to search for henan red relics, review the red glory years, trace the red original heart, tell the red story of the Central Plains, do a good job in red inheritance and red education, and guide netizens to remember history and cherish the present.

Dahe Network News (reporter Wang Hui correspondent Xue Mengyao) In Anyangcheng Street, Macun District, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, there is such a village full of "red temperament", where the deeds of heroes and martyrs are sung from generation to generation, and the revolutionary spirit is passed down from generation to generation, which is the West Han Wang Village.

Speaking of West Hanwang Village, the name of the village has a great origin. During the Liberation War, Han Kejian, the head of the third district of Xiuwu County, and the political commissar Wang Ziying were working in The village of Xiwanhu, and in the middle of May 1946, late one night, they were attacked by the local armed forces of the Kuomintang. In order to let the two martyrs Han Kejian and Wang Ziying be remembered by generations and let the martyrs' names be recorded in history, the Xiuwu County CPC Committee decided to rename Xiwanhu Village to Xihan Wang Village according to the martyr's surname, and on June 18, 1946, a memorial meeting was held here, and thousands of soldiers and civilians paid tearful tribute to the martyr's heroic soul.

History is eternal because of remembrance, and spirit is carried forward by inheritance. In order to commemorate the glorious deeds of the revolutionary martyrs and praise the spirit of patriotism, the Jiaozuo Municipal People's Government erected a monument in the north of The West HanWang Village on the Qingming Festival in 1996 to commemorate the two martyrs. In 2009, the construction of the main canal of the South-to-North Water Diversion In Jiaozuo City began, and the Monument to the Martyrs of HanWang was relocated to the northwest corner of the Red Cultural Square. At the end of 2014, the Han Wang Martyrs Monument and Memorial Pavilion were rebuilt, that is, the original site of the place where Han Kejian and Wang Ziying martyrs died heroically, and the cultural wall used graphic exhibition boards and theme scenes as the carrier to reproduce the revolutionary deeds of Han Kejian and Wang Ziying martyrs during the Liberation War. On the basis of improving the supporting facilities such as squares, roads, and greenery, a special cultural relics protection group has been set up to be responsible for the protection of cultural relics of the martyrs' monuments, and special personnel have been arranged to be fully responsible for the daily management and maintenance of the monument pavilions, and strive to provide a good educational place for the masses with high-quality and efficient service quality, elegant and clean environmental atmosphere, and various forms of educational means.
