British ecologist Tang Rui Townsend's favorite is to look for remote corners in Beijing to find birds. Every Saturday and Sunday, he would get up at 4:30, pick up binoculars, cameras and other "long guns and short cannons", drive dozens of kilometers to the reservoir on the outskirts of Beijing for a few hours, and as long as he heard birdsong, he could say the names of birds in a few seconds.
