The literati doctor's desire for prostitutes is not limited to physical satisfaction, but also wants to discuss poetry, song, and game with the talented fireworks women, and what they really desire is to establish an unfettered and intimate emotional connection with the prostitutes. Prostitutes can also experience higher spiritual enjoyment through their own talents, reduce their sense of inferiority and humiliation, and can change their unfortunate situation. In order to change their fate and improve their competitiveness, prostitutes cater to the interests of literati and inkers in terms of life, living, hobbies, etc., in addition to paying attention to their own clothing image, they pay more attention to their own cultural accomplishment. As a result, many prostitute painters appeared in this period, and Li Yin was one of many talented prostitutes.
Li Yin (1610-1685), also spelled Jinsheng, was a native of Qiantang (present-day Hangzhou, Zhejiang). Li Yin is not only good at poetry, but also good at calligraphy and painting, and has a deep attainment. She specializes in pen and ink landscapes and flowers and birds. The painting masters of landscapes from the father and son of the Mi family, mostly dyed with ink dots, "covering the trees and stones with smoke clouds", but unfortunately we have not seen any landscape works that have been circulated so far. Her freehand paintings of flowers and birds are taught by fellow painter Ye Shouqing, and at the same time, she also learns from the creation of the Law, drawing inspiration from life in nature. Aesthetically, she pursues Chen Chun's painting style, casual and relaxed, comfortable and comfortable. Li Yin's works are not like the shortcomings of the previous female painters such as stinginess and thin brushwork, and her works are old and have no boudoir atmosphere, and they write about gods in shape, which was also praised at that time.
In his later years, Li Yin was alone and his family was miserable, and he still persevered in chanting and painting. The talented people admired her talent, and the famous thinker Huang Zongxi also wrote a biography for him, and was one of the influential female painters in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
