The death toll from fake alcohol poisoning in Russia's Orenburg Oblast rose to 29

MOSCOW, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The website of the Investigation Commission of the Russian Federation issued a notice on the 9th that the number of deaths from fake alcohol poisoning in orenburg O'Orenburg Oblast rose to 29 on the same day.

The report said that the federal investigative commission is investigating the incident and has so far identified 29 deaths and arrested 9 people involved.

According to information released by the Information Office of the Orenburg State Government, 23 people are still being treated, 5 of whom are in critical condition and using ventilators.

In recent days, there have been a number of cases of poisoning by drinking fake alcohol in the canton of Orenburg, and methanol has been found in the victim's body. The state government asked people not to drink alcohol until the outcome of the case was investigated.
