Wang Jinxi was born on October 8, 1923, to a poor peasant family in Chijinbao, Yumen County, Gansu Province.
In 1950, Wang Jinxi entered the Yumen Oil Mine through the operation assessment and became the first generation of drilling workers in New China.
In 1960, Wang Jinxi led a team to Daqing Oilfield to participate in the oil conference battle, just arrived in Daqing, due to the shortage of hoisting equipment, Wang Jinxi well drilling rig could not arrive at the construction site. A set of drilling rigs weighs more than 60 tons, including 40 or 50 sets of large and small equipment. When Yumen dismantled and moved, 4 cranes, 4 tractors and 10 large trucks were used. Wang Jinxi roared: Can't wait! He led more than 30 workers to fight for 3 days and 3 nights, relying on people to carry the drilling rig to the well site.
Only 5 days later, Wang Jinxi led the team to drill the first well after Daqing, and completed the drilling of 1200 meters. Under the extremely difficult living conditions, Wang Jinxi and his teammates wrote such a heroic poem: "The north wind is a fan, the snow is fried noodles, the south sea and the north will fight, and vow to win the number one big oil field!" ”
When the second well was drilled into the shallow gas layer of 700 meters, a blowout occurred suddenly, and if it was not stopped in time, it was bound to lead to the destruction of the well. Barite powder is required for the well press, but not on site. Wang Jinxi immediately decided to add cement to increase the proportion of mud, but cement was added to the bottom and could not be fused. Seeing this situation, Wang Jinxi wore a work uniform, dragged a wounded leg and jumped into the waist-deep mud pool, stirring the mud with his body...
On June 1, 1960, Daqing's first crude oil shipment. On November 17, 1963, Premier Zhou Enlai solemnly announced at the Fourth Session of the Second National People's Congress that PetroChina had basically achieved self-sufficiency. The new Chinese petroleum industry thus entered a new era.
