Cut off water, food and medicine, and see how Marshal He Long was persecuted to death

Today (June 9, 2019) marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Marshal He Long, one of the great proletarian revolutionaries, militarists, and one of the founders and principal leaders of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. On June 9, 1969, Marshal He Long, who was persecuted by Lin Biao and the Gang of Four counter-revolutionary clique, unfortunately passed away with injustice. How did this great soldier who "made a revolution with two kitchen knives" die at the hands of Lin Biao and the Gang of Four anti-party clique?

Let's take a look at marshal He Long's last tragic days.

After the "Cultural Revolution" began, the "rebels" stormed He Long's home and raided it. In order to protect He Long's safety, Premier Zhou Enlai took He Long and his wife Xue Ming to his own home in the Xihua Hall in Zhongnanhai and took care of him. In 1967, when Zhongnanhai was no longer safe, Chen Boda, head of the "Central Cultural Revolution Group," together with deputy group Jiang Qinghe and adviser Kang Sheng, decided to arbitrarily criticize Liu (Shaoqi), Deng (Xiaoping), and Tao (Zhu) and their spouses to persecute them personally. Premier Zhou sent someone to transfer He Long and his wife to a secret place. However, soon, He Long and his wife fell into the hands of Lin Biao and Jiang Qing and their gang, and they completely lost their freedom.

In August 1966, Lin Biao instructed Wu Faxian (then commander of the Air Force) to write materials entitled "He Long's Meddling in the Air Force Party Committee," at which time He Long was a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice premier of the State Council, and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission. However, in accordance with Lin Biao's will, Wu Faxian wrote "He Long attended the eleventh meeting of the Air Force Party Committee and had activities to seize power," saying that "He Long is a black line commanding the Air Force Party Committee," and saying that "Lin Biao is a red line commanding the Air Force Party Committee." After being signed by Wu Faxian and a political commissar, it was submitted to Lin Biao on September 3 of the same year, and Lin Biao approved and forwarded it to the Party Central Committee.

Also in August 1966, Ye Qun (Lin Biao's wife, then director of the Lin Office) dictated the fabricated materials to the director of the Security Department of the General Office of the Central Military Commission, instructed him to write materials framing He Long, and said to him: "Write in the tone of your initiative to reflect the situation to me, do not write in the tone that I instructed you." In September and October of the same year, he successively sent lin biao four copies of the materials written purely fabricated to frame He Long, and then Lin Biao issued and forwarded them to the Party Central Committee. The content of these framed materials is really ridiculous, but it is just nonsense. For example, "He Long often gathered with Peng Zhen, Luo Ruiqing, Lu Dingyi, Yang Shangkun, and other anti-party elements for secret talks"; "He Long personally kept a refined pistol, put it under his pillow when he slept at night, and carried it with him when he went out", and so on.

In the summer of 1966, Kang Sheng framed He Long and Peng Zhen for "privately mobilizing the army to carry out the February Mutiny" at a mass meeting held at Beijing Normal University and at a meeting of the "Central Cultural Revolution Group." The actual situation is that in February 1966, the Beijing Military Region transferred a regiment of troops to the Beijing Garrison District in accordance with the instructions of the Central Military Commission to strengthen militia training and other tasks. Due to the lack of barracks, they sent comrades from the army to Chinese min University, Peking University and other schools to contact the temporary borrowing of houses. After later study, considering that it was inappropriate for the army to be stationed in the school, and that the students who had gone to the countryside to participate in the "Four Qing" movement were about to return to school, the troops no longer proposed to borrow houses from the school. As a result, the troops were never stationed in schools. Only three or four months later, the "Cultural Revolution" began, and someone wrote a big poster that "shockingly threatened the February Mutiny." This very ordinary thing was used by Kang Sheng to fan the flames everywhere and create rumors of the "February Mutiny". Lin Biao also took advantage of this and framed and persecuted He Long.

In May 1968, Kang Sheng said: "From He Long's historical defection to the enemy, he Long's current counter-revolutionary activities will never be without, and it can be from history to this and reality." Therefore, Lin Biao and Jiang Qing and their gang planned to make up He Long's "collaboration with the enemy and rebellion" in 1933. The actual situation on this matter is: In 1933, Chiang Kai-shek sent heavy troops to encircle and suppress the Red Base Area and the Red Third Army in Western Hunan and Hubei (which was downsized by the Red Second Army in 1931, and restored to the Red Second Army in 1934, during the Red Second Army, He Long was the commander of the Army, and during the Red Third Army, He Long was the commander of the Red Third Army; on the other hand, he sent the reactionary politician Xiong Gongqing to lobby and plot rebellion against He Long and bribe him. He Long saw through Xiong Gongqing's plot and reported to the Central Bureau of the Communist Party of China in Western Hunan and Hubei, asking for permission to kill Xiong Gongqing, a reactionary politician. The Central Sub-Bureau agreed with He Long's opinion. When Xiong Gongqing came to the red base area in western Xiang'e, He Long learned something from Xiong's mouth that we needed to know, and executed Xiong Gongqing. To this end, the Xiang'e West Central Branch Bureau made a report to the Party Central Committee in March 1934. This matter is well documented in the Central Archives. However, Lin Biao, Jiang Qing, and their gang actually reversed black and white and used this incident as a basis for framing He Long for "collaborating with the enemy and rebelling."

Later, He Long and his wife were imprisoned by Lin Biao and Jiang Qing. He Long and Xue Ming were tortured and tortured in every way during their imprisonment. I ate salt-boiled cabbage and rice mixed with sand. And in the last days, they were almost cut off for 40 days, and they were only supplied with a military kettle every day, and they were often not filled. There was not enough water to eat, So Xue Ming had to take some rainwater to replenish, and the medicines he brought were also taken away. Due to lack of nutrition and no drug treatment, it was not until June 8, 1969, when He Long's condition was out of control, that he was examined at Xue Ming's repeated requests, and was sent to the hospital on the morning of the 9th.

Due to abuse and mental devastation in his life, Marshal He Long died unjustly on the afternoon of June 9 at the age of 73. This "two kitchen knives to make a revolution", participated in the Nanchang Uprising on August 1, 1927, and under the leadership of Zhou Enlai, secretary of the Former Enemies Committee of the Communist Party of China, served as the commander-in-chief of the Nanchang Uprising troops, Marshal He Long, who has made many meritorious achievements in the Southern Expedition and the Northern War for decades, was so unjustly killed! lamentable! Alas!

After He Long's unjust death, Chairman Mao once said: "I think He Long is wrong, and I am responsible." Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Deng Xiaoping repeatedly instructed He Long to be rehabilitated.

On September 29, 1974, the Central Committee issued the Notice on Restoring the Reputation of Comrade He Long.

In October 1982, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made another decision to "completely rehabilitate Comrade He Long." The decision fully affirmed He Long's immortal contribution to the Chinese revolution: He Long he long was an outstanding communist fighter. He pursued the truth all his life and devoted his life's energy and painstaking efforts to the party and the people. In the war years, for the cause of the people's liberation, they fought bravely and well, endured hardships and dangers, and persevered; in peacetime, for the construction of socialism, they poured their hearts and blood, bowed their heads, and died. He resolutely implemented the party's line, principles, and policies, strictly abided by the party's discipline, and consciously safeguarded the party's unity and unity. He hated the enemy, loved the people and was loyal to the revolutionary cause of the proletariat. His life was a life of revolution and a life of fighting. He was selfless, upright, consistent in words and deeds, bright and upright, approachable, open-minded and generous, loving soldiers and caring for the masses. His heroic image and lofty moral character are deeply respected and loved by the whole party, the whole army and the people of all nationalities throughout the country.

Marshal He Long is immortal!
