According to Reuters New York reported on September 20, court documents show that Prince Andrew of the United Kingdom was sexually assaulted by a woman in the United States.

In filings with a Manhattan courthouse, Virginia Al-Jufrey's attorneys said they emailed and FedEx copies of the civil lawsuit to Prince's lawyer in Los Angeles, and both copies were signed by Monday morning.

Under federal rules, Prince Andrew must respond within 21 days or face a default verdict. Jufrey's lawyers have previously said they also served copies of the documents to Andrew in the UK. Prince Andrew was Queen Elizabeth's second son.

Andrew and his lawyer vehemently denied Jufrey's claims. The 61-year-old prince has so far not been charged with a crime. The lawsuit filed by Jufrey on Aug. 9 seeks unspecified damages. Jufrey, 38, accused Andrew of forcing her to have sex when she was a minor at her London home with billionaire Epstein's British girlfriend, Gisley Maxwell.
