"Batis" is a bird name called "Puffy-backed Grebe" found in south-central Africa. The Carl Zeiss "Batis" series is therefore also called the Puffed Wren series. Carl Zeiss has also launched two series of lenses, "Touit" and "Loxia", "Touit" supports autofocus, but only covers APS-C format; "Loxia" series covers full frame, but only supports manual focus.
The Puffback Series is aimed at Sony E-mount full-frame autofocus lenses, so it is also more popular with users.
So far, the Carl Zeiss "Batis" series has launched Batis 2/25, Batis 1.8/85, Batis 2.8/18, Batis 2.8/135 four products, known as the Four Musketeers.
