Scientists have discovered new species of carps

According to Qin Tao, the first author of the paper and an assistant researcher at the Kunming Institute of Zoology, since 2014, researchers from the Southeast Asian Wildlife Diversity Research Group of the Kunming Institute of Zoology have conducted many field trips to biodiversity hotspots in northern Myanmar and collected a large number of fish specimens. After conducting morphological taxonomic studies and systematic collation of the collected fish specimens, the research team found a rare genus of true horse mouth fish, which is a new species that has not yet been described, and named it grape real horse mouth fish.

The grape real makopus belongs to the order Cyprinid, Cyprinid, Subfamily, and Eucalyptus, and is most similar to the Chatejan makopoo distributed in eastern India, but can be distinguished by a combination of morphological characteristics. (Reporter Zhao Hanbin)
