A Roche giraffe walks on the island of Lake Baringo, Kenya. Global warming has affected a significant increase in local precipitation, and the water level of Lake Barringo has reached a 60-year high, causing the island's giraffe habitat to shrink to one-tenth of its original habitat, and the Kenyan government plans to transfer eight Roche giraffes to safety in the last month. Roche giraffes are one of the most endangered subspecies of giraffes in the world, with fewer than 1,400 remaining in the wild worldwide.
