On January 26, Quan Hongchan shared a number of photos with her family on social media. Soon after, a video of her riding an electric car and taking her sisters shopping in the village also circulated on the Internet. On January 27, Quan Hongchan's father, Quan Mao, revealed to reporters that his daughter did return to her hometown for the New Year this year.

Quan Mao said that when his daughter came home, the whole family was very happy, but she didn't make too special preparations, everything was as usual, "It's normal, just kill a chicken and fry two dishes." He said.
At the same time, Quan Zihua, the head of Maihe Village, also briefed reporters on Quan Hongchan's return to the village. He mentioned that Quan Hongchan's family is very low-key, and although the villagers welcomed her home, they did not hold a special welcoming ceremony. Recently, there will be volunteers in the village to maintain order.
Quan Zihua also mentioned that Quan Hongchan's attention has indeed brought a lot of changes to the village. "There are about a few thousand people in the village now, maybe more on the second and third days of the Lunar New Year." He said that in order to improve the reception capacity of tourists, the roads in the village have been widened, and the appearance of the village has also undergone many changes, and many villagers have started businesses and found jobs at their doorsteps. He also said that tourists from other places are welcome to come and walk around the village.
"You can also go to the ancestral hall and ancient house in the village to have a look, and you can also taste our white-cut chicken, roast pork, and the 'leaf cake' that we will make in the New Year." Quan Zihua said.
