Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) recently announced that the game's single-player mode, Squadron 42, is expected to be officially launched in 2026.
At the recent CitizenCon event, the official announced the latest real-world demo of "42 Squadron", showing part of the content of the first chapter of the game, after the demonstration, Chris Roberts, founder of CIG and game director of "Star Citizen", said that the game duration of this game is about 30~40 hours, and the development team is "full of confidence" in this release window in 2026.
Originally announced in October 2012 alongside Star Citizen, Squadron 42 is the single-player mode of Star Citizen, and to date, the two games have raised more than $729 million in funding, and after 12 years, the game finally has a definite release date.
