Editor's note

From 1949 to 2024, from poverty to prosperity, we have gone through 75 years of hardship but confidence together with New China.

Born under the red flag and grown up in the spring breeze. There is such a group of people, who were born in 1949 and breathe and grow together with the motherland; They have dedicated their best youth and experienced the earth-shaking changes that have taken place since the founding of the People's Republic of China 75 years ago.

In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the "Yunnan Red River Release" set up a special column of "The Motherland is Good, the Red River is Red - Searching for Peers of the Republic", looking for representatives of the same age as New China in the whole state, listening to their stories together, feeling the happy picture of people in the vicissitudes of life, and feeling the rapid changes of the motherland.

Shi Weichen was born in June 1949, the same age as the Republic, and is a Hani man from Luchun County, Honghe Prefecture. He used his ordinary and fulfilling experience to witness the vicissitudes of the country and write his own extraordinary story.

Shi Weichen made a mobilization report

Shi Weichen's experience is a life closely connected with the land and the people. Since he stepped on his job in November 1965, he has successively served as a private teacher, a "barefoot" doctor, a commune cadre, a township chief and other positions, each of which has left the footprints of his hard work. He has not only won many achievements in education and teaching, but has also been rated as an advanced teacher; In the field of medical and health care, he has also won the trust of the villagers with his superb medical skills and has been rated as an advanced "barefoot" doctor.

Especially during the period of holding leading positions at the grassroots level, Shi Weichen was even more concerned about the masses, anxious about what the masses were anxious about, and thought about what the masses thought. "No matter what position you are in, you must do your best to contribute to the country." Shi Weichen's eyes were firm. He actively sought funds to promote the implementation of livelihood projects such as drinking water projects for people and livestock and the construction of farmers' markets, which greatly improved the production and living conditions of the local people. At the same time, he also personally led the villagers to develop rubber plantations and develop the citronella industry, injecting new vitality into the local economic development.

"Now, the development of Green Spring is really changing with each passing day, the traffic has changed greatly, the wide asphalt road is full of traffic, and people travel more conveniently and quickly." Shi Weichen said with emotion.

In July 2002, after Shi Weichen retired, he devoted more energy to the creation of poetry, calligraphy and painting that he loved. He has successively served as the secretary-general, president and secretary-general of the Green Spring Branch of the Honghe Prefecture Elderly Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Association, and uses his pen and ink to convey his love for the motherland and his perception of life. His works have been published in literary and artistic journals at all levels and have won many honors. In the 2013 National "Ode to Great Men" Poetry and Calligraphy Competition, his work "Ode to Chairman Mao, the People's Leader" won the second prize, and the two participating poems were compiled into the "Complete Works of Chinese and Foreign Contemporary Literary Artists", which were distributed at home and abroad, becoming the highlight of his artistic career.

For life after retirement, Shi Weichen has his own unique perception: "Retirement is not the end of life, but a new beginning. He always maintains a young mentality, cherishes the moment, does what he likes, and understands the beauty of life. His story inspires everyone to stay optimistic and pursue their dreams and passions, no matter what the situation is.

Shi Weichen, a Hani man of the same age as the Republic, used his own experience to interpret what is responsibility and responsibility, what is love and dedication, and it is also one of the most valuable spiritual wealth of this era.
