Different textures are recognizable on the exterior of the dwelling: one is a perforated metal plate connected to the opening, which acts as a transition between the exterior and the interior; The other is a solid sheet metal with a continuous white cladding. All this culminates in a sloping roof that reinforces the typological image of the residential complex and echoes the metal cladding of the façade openings.

The project, which envisions the construction of 34 homes in an open-plan building, is driven by a committee of owners who are actively involved in formal planning and decision-making. This joint approach reduces the cost of construction (by reducing the benefits of the promoter), democratizes decision-making, and creates a sense of belonging for future coexistence and interaction in the architectural space.

The building is located on the last vacant plot of land in a residential area developed in the area around Ermita de Santa Marta, on the edge of the Santiago de Compostela site in the 90s of the 20th century. In the current urban planning proposals for the area, the residential buildings are all developed in the form of open U-shaped blocks with internal courtyards for private use, with the exception of the eastern side of the area (where the local block is located), where the existing low-density building grid is adopted and a series of linear meandering open block type buildings are planned, which occupy the highest part of the selected plot and also serve to address the existing slope, turning the building into an enclosed element between the different elements of the public space.

The building's massing is formed by the elements that make up the site: linear elements, edges, and boundaries, forming a continuous mass.

Access to all residences from the street is via a double-height corridor that centralizes all the passages, a common vestibule of five internal communication porches, and leads to a community space at the end of the corridor, as well as to a more secluded public space on the other side of the site.

These openings are designed for flexible configuration and appear on the façade as elements of the home's interaction with its surroundings. In addition to the traditional daylighting and ventilation functions, filtering is added, perforated metal panel partitions are superimposed on the exterior to allow light and air to enter, improving the relationship between interior and exterior, creating varying degrees of privacy and creating a barrier that blocks sunlight from shining and thus gradually lowers the temperature inside the home at different times of the year.
