Under the condition of ensuring the normal visit of tourists, the Mausoleum Museum of the First Qin Emperor successfully completed 9 upgrading and renovation projects before the National Day, providing a new experience for tourists to visit. During the National Day holiday just past, the Mausoleum Museum of Qin Shi Huang received 390722 visitors.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the archaeological excavation of the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses, and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Mausoleum Museum of the First Emperor of Qin. Since the first half of the year, the Mausoleum Museum of the First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty has upgraded and renovated the old facilities, and implemented 9 projects, including the ventilation and air-conditioning project of the No. 1 pit of the Qin Terracotta Warriors, the landscape improvement project around the exhibition hall of the No. 2 pit and the No. 3 pit exhibition environment, the comprehensive display project, and the archaeological site protection and display improvement project of the No. 1 pit site (the site protection and restoration laboratory of the No. 1 pit of the Qin Terracotta Warriors), and the landscape and road project of Lishan Garden (the surrounding part of the copper carriage and horse).
According to Wang Yuanyin, vice president of the Mausoleum Museum of the First Emperor of Qin, the No. 1 pit exhibition hall of the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses was completed and opened to the public in 1979. Under the premise of not carrying out large-scale renovation of the exhibition hall as a whole and not increasing the structural load of the original exhibition hall, 58 new integrated air-conditioning units (including purification equipment, anti-virus equipment, and fan coil units) were installed to improve the comfort of the tour and improve the cultural relics protection environment to a certain extent. Even in the presence of a large number of visitors, the newly installed ventilation system keeps the air fresh in the exhibition hall at all times.
The No. 1 pit of the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses is a must-visit route for tourists, and its safety and stability are of paramount importance. At the end of July this year, the Mausoleum Museum of Qin Shi Huang carried out the renovation of the east foyer of the No. 1 pit, including the repair and reinforcement of the floor slab, as well as the demolition of part of the wall to ensure the structural safety of the east foyer. After the renovation was completed, it was completely renewed.
After the completion of the renovation, the comprehensive exhibition hall is spacious and bright, and the exhibition area has also increased. On September 8, before the National Day, the "Underground Kingdom of the First Emperor of the Ages - Archaeological Discovery Exhibition of the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang" has been opened here, which is the basic display of the archaeological achievements of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor as the core content, and is a comprehensive display of the archaeological excavation, cultural relics protection and academic research results of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor in the past 50 years.
"The surrounding environment of the No. 2 and No. 3 pit exhibition halls has also been upgraded and reconstructed, and the original business here is relatively concentrated, and there are relatively few lawns and green spaces, but now the tourist-centered and people-oriented attitude has been rectified."
With the commissioning of the "On-site Protection and Restoration Laboratory" of the No. 1 Pit of the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses and the "Archaeological Site Excavation and Protection Platform" of the No. 2 Pit of the Qin Terracotta Warriors, the archaeological excavation of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses pit has also used high technology, which can greatly improve the ability to protect the terracotta warriors and horses during archaeological excavation.
The No. 1 pit site protection and restoration laboratory is located in the No. 1 pit restoration area, including emergency protection experimental cabin, cabin environmental control system, special lighting work system, work record system, cultural relics information collection system, cultural relics lifting equipment, cultural relics special customized equipment, etc., to build a full-process closed-loop system from the archaeological excavation site to the laboratory restoration, which can make the painted figurines, especially the paint bottom painting, be more timely and comprehensive.
Considering that a large number of painted kneeling figurines were unearthed in the second excavation of the No. 2 pit in 1994, an archaeological site excavation and protection platform was built in the No. 2 pit.
It is understood that in addition to the above nine projects, on September 30, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses special line highway reconstruction and expansion project has also been officially opened to traffic. The starting point of the project is located at the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Junction Interchange of Lianhuo Expressway, and ends at Hujiazhai Village, Daiwang Street, Lintong District, and the end point is connected to Qintang Avenue by connecting lines. The total length of the route is 6.15 kilometers, and the terminal connection line is 0.749 kilometers under construction. The whole line adopts the existing terracotta warriors and horses secondary special highway to be widened on one side or on both sides. The main line adopts the technical standard of two-way 4-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h, and the connecting line adopts the two-way 6-lane first-class highway standard with a design speed of 60 km/h and a roadbed width of 26 meters. As the only cultural and tourism expressway in the province, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Special Line has also introduced innovative technologies such as smart cloud warehouses, tidal robots and digital twin monitoring systems for the first time in the process of reconstruction and expansion, combining immersive experience with convenient non-inductive traffic to ensure the orderly passage of vehicles driving on the special line.
