That night, the documentary "Yuhua Loyal Soul" was broadcast on CCTV-9 CCTV Documentary Channel, and Jiangsu Satellite TV and other broadcasts were broadcast simultaneously. The film is based on the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on Yuhua Heroes, and takes the 28-year struggle of the Communist Party of China from the founding of the Party in 1921 to the founding of New China in 1949 as the main line, and runs through the revolutionary deeds of Yuhua Heroes.
As a high-quality documentary project selected by the State Administration of Radio and Television for the "Record New Era", "Yuhua Loyal Soul" is divided into four episodes: "Pursuing the Truth", "Rushing Grass", "Rescue Warriors" and "Holding Up the Dawn", each episode is 45 minutes long, and through touching stories, it profoundly reveals the original mission, ideals and beliefs of the Chinese Communists represented by Yuhua Yinglie, and answers why the Communist Party of China can "unite and lead the Chinese people and create the great achievements of the new democratic revolution".
From 1926 to 1949 on the eve of the liberation of Nanjing, tens of thousands of revolutionary martyrs died in Yuhuatai and Nanjing, and there are 1,519 known names, and most of the rest are unknown martyrs. The creation of "Yuhua Loyal Soul" began at the Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Hall. The main creative team sorted out clues from the martyrs' files compiled by the memorial hall since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the martyrs' letters, archives, relics and other physical objects collected since the implementation of the "Red Star Project" in 2019; He also went to more than 10 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shanxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Anhui and Jiangxi to search for the footprints of the martyrs' combat life; He also went to archives and libraries in Russia, United States, and Taiwan to further excavate historical documents.
In the process of excavating archives abroad, the film crew obtained some precious historical materials. For example, in the Russia State Socio-Historical and Political Archive and the Oriental Documentation Center of the National Library of Russia, the film crew found documents on the placement and reception of the children of martyr Deng Zhongxia by the Red Workers International, and the original copy of the magazine "Pacific Worker" edited by martyr Huang Li and her husband Yang Fangzhi. At the "National History Museum" in Taiwan, China, the film crew found historical documents including the original text of the telegram sent to him by the Kuomintang authorities after the arrest of Gao Bo, the original text of Chiang Kai-shek's telegram demanding that the martyr Zhou Ho be shot immediately, and the text of the Kuomintang authorities' request for the Shanghai Concession to extradite the martyr Deng Zhongxia.
Based on in-depth excavation and detailed research, "Yuhua Loyal Soul" can use abundant details and emotional expressions to uncover the little-known stories behind the heroic deeds for the audience. For example, the martyr Jinfu once gave his newlywed wife a well-designed single photo, which was cropped into the shape of a Maple Leaf Chinese Restaurant, and was attached to the "missing" flower language of Maple Leaf Chinese Restaurant. Just six days after his wedding, Jin Fu went to the front line, where he was arrested and killed. His wife treasured this love token that recorded the tenderness of the martyrs for more than 70 years. Another example is that after the martyr Sun Xiaomei joined the New Fourth Army, she was puzzled by her family, and she wrote a letter to her mother.
